White Oak Canyon Adventure

We lead an expedition yesterday to White Oak Canyon. This was a lot of fun, and one trip we will do again. There is nothing like spending a day with a group of people on an adventure.

We have met "congregational style" for so long, that we find these adventures not only stimulating but challenging. Robert King once said "I have to learn how to be a friend again, I used to wave at some one across the sanctuary and think that this was friendship."

On a day adventure like this, you wind up "talking" to people. You hear some surprising things in the coarse of the day. It takes people more than one hour on Sunday morning to open up. One highlight for me was hiking with Peter and Paula Welsh. We had a wonderful conversation that the beauty of White Oak drew out of us. Expeditions are a beautiful way to "know" a person.

It was a real privilege to see Michael Levin in his glory. We were invited to his home where he served up a meal to remember. The food was seasoned with herbs from his garden where we sat and enjoyed a feast.

We have lots of ideas on day and weekend adventures coming up and we will keep you posted.
